Sealcoating

1. Designate all areas to be sealed.

1. Lay out and mark all areas of repair.

2. Excavate area to be repaired to a minimum depth of ” below bottom of repair or below other surface material and to a width of ”.

3. Install a layer of support fabric around complete perimeter of drain area leaving adequate material to wrap top of drain area to prevent contamination of drain.

4. Install stone aggregate in drain area and wrap with support fabric.

5. Install perforated pipe when necessary.

6. Where new underdrain system intersects existing structure or storm sewer line, tie into existing system to allow drainage of underdrain system. Provision shall be made to drain system where no structure or storm line exists.

7. Install specified finish. 2. Clean areas to be sealed by removing all loose dirt and debris with blower, broom and/or vacuum.

3. Clean and prime areas of oil saturation with heavy-duty bonding agent to promote oil adhesion. Fill minor oil-damaged holes using compatible repair materials.

4. Apply 2 coat(s) of coal tar pitch emulsion coating fortified with latex / epoxy admixture and sand aggregate in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. All sealcoat material used meets or exceeds Federal Specification RP355e. Sand aggregate loads will be custom designed according to traffic patterns and texture of the asphalt. Newly sealcoated surface to remain closed to traffic for a 24-hour period, as per manufacturer’s specifications.

NOTE: Severely damaged and saturated areas are not warranted unless repaired as full-depth asphalt restoration. Newly restored asphalt should be allowed to cure a minimum of 4 weeks.
